Reiki Practitioner, Pachacuti Mesa Carrier
I've struggled most of my adult life with the candy sampler of issues—from anxiety and stress to low self-esteem, codependency, obsessive thoughts, and porous boundaries. My search to learn how to handle those emotions and challenges began a 25-year process of growth and change, introducing me to teachers and therapists who helped me. While I can't claim that I've conquered anxiety and stress, I can say that I've learned how to relate to those emotions in ways that empower me vs. hijack me.
In my early 20s, I began to understand my life wasn't working. I would routinely obsess over something: a situation with a friend, a situation at work, money, being single, or something with my family. I spent hours beating up on myself—everything from how I looked to who I was. I numbed out with food, marijuana, TV, and cigarettes. I was introduced to a book by Melody Beatte called Co-Dependent No More by a friend who noticed how much I was struggling with everything. That friend and that book changed the course of my life.
Beatte’s book opened the door to a healing path that I'm still on today. I was soon guided to many books on spirituality that helped me understand how my life's experiences had impacted my soul and the energy of who I was. I got the courage to reach out to the first of many therapists who helped me deconstruct and re-write all of the poisonous messages I got growing up.
In my late 30s, I was introduced to the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition™ of cross-cultural shamanism, which was originated and brought to the United States by the kamasqa curandero and altomisayoq adept from Peru, don Oscar Miro-Quesada. This is when my years of studying spiritualty and my years of therapy coalesced and the journey into My Self exploded. I got to dig deep into my stuff, supported all along the way by the beautiful medicine teachings of this tradition.
I learned how to see, accept, process, and integrate all of my parts through and within Ceremony, and how to work with my own body's energy field. As I learned to do these techniques on and for myself, I learned how my journey, my practice, and these energy tools could help others.
Now, entering my 50s, it's time to share this medicine with others. It's time for you to know that you don't have to believe your inner critic; it’s possible, and you’re allowed to, sleep with a quiet mind and rested soul; that healing is achieved by paying attention to your body, mind, and spirit; and that nature supports and encourages you every single day. The spark of the Divine is in you, and help is one request away from manifesting.

Reiki is a natural method of energy balancing for the purpose of stress reduction and relaxation. It can involve "the laying on of hands"
although this is not required for Reiki to be effective.
Reiki is not a substitute for traditional medical treatment. If someone has a serious health imbalance they should see a Doctor or other appropriate professional and make complementary healing part of a complete health care program. Reiki treatment does not use any tissue manipulation or massage and does not ever involve sexual contact of any kind under any circumstance. Unethical people have been known to abuse other people under the pretext of spiritual, holistic and complementary healing. Such people should be reported to authorities promptly.
Energy therapy is a natural method of energy balancing, but is not meant as a substitute for medical, or psychological, diagnosis and treatment.
Energy practitioners do not diagnose conditions, nor do they perform medical treatment, prescribe substances, or interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional unless they have received training in such a licensed professional practice that supports this. This type of skill is not a part of a normal certified Reiki training program.
Energy therapy or any other natural healing therapy should not compete with medical doctors and their treatments. While it can be used entirely on its own, Reiki can be used together with any other form of medical, natural or alternative therapy in order to complement traditional medical treatments.
Reiki is meant only to complement medical treatments and not to replace them.
I strongly recommended you see a licensed physician, GP or other licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment whether it be acute or chronic that you may be suffering from or suspect that you may have.
